The Bureau of Analogies (BoA) will present their ongoing research project on fermentation and speculation, drawing parallels between fermented wild ale producers in Belgium and the broader art sector. Due to their scarcity and longer shelf-life, wild ales can be speculated with like artworks and show similarities in distri- bution cycles. Their uniqueness and difficulty to produce create socio-economic conditions in wild ale making that are quite similar to precarity experienced in the art world. Through a performative lecture and tasting session featuring Bokke and Drap, BoA will present their ongoing research on analogies between art and fermented wild ale sectors. BoA also presents a vitrine of objects and research artifacts that inform their methodology and research, including fermented wildale bottles and other research related ephemera.
