Situation

This text voices the collective concerns that were guiding an ongoing working process, developing a cartographic portal in a partnership that consists of a collaboration between three artists (Ciel Grommen, Maximiliaan Royakkers, Clémentine Vaultier), an artist duo (Vermeir & Heiremans), and three organizations: the Brussels-based nadine, the Danish organization f.eks., and Atelier Cartographique. In this text we discuss, in the form of semi-fictitious dialogues, a process of map making that aims to make our interconnectedness visible. In our ambitions for this cartographic portal, we want to accommodate a collective practice of 'countermapping' including a wide variety and range of people, places, things, archives, situated knowledge, narrations, relations etc...
