Buratinas

Buratinas is a boat that runs on solar energy. The boat measures 4m80 by 2m40, and moves at a speed up to 10 km/h. Since 2011, Buratinas has been active in the cultural life of Brussels. The project is run by the collective of Buratinas Captains, who use the boat as an alternative residency place. Buratinas is a tool to research the waterways as a public space and is mostly active in Brussels on the canal that is too often merely seen as a physical boundary in the center of the city.
